| CLIENT CHALLENGE The Performance Excellence team at Canada Post Corporation (CPC) was looking to hold a daylong training event at their 2005 National Sales Conference. The training needed to be delivered in French and English simultaneously for about 250 sales professionals. The program’s content needed to be applicable to all levels of sales professionals, engaging everyone from the sales directors to the telesales associates. CREATIVE RANGE The Sales Championship™ team was given full creative range as we developed a customized program for CPC. Our team of experts conducted over a dozen interviews with various stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of CPC’s current work environment and training initiatives. CHAMPIONSHIP SOLUTION The 250 sales professionals were immersed in a sales environment that was unlike anything they had ever experienced, one that tested them mentally and emotionally and pushed them to their limits. They had to compete against each other in a setting where they never had enough time, resources or information to make perfect decisions, and yet were challenged to succeed despite this. Our Sales Championship™ team over-delivered on every aspect of the program. We translated the program into French so that the 80 French sales professionals could have the same experience as their English counterparts. We followed up the training day with a comprehensive summary report that benchmarked the participants against other high performance sales teams. This report was based on both their pre-assessment work and the feedback drawn from the simulation. RESULTS The participants’ evaluation of this program was truly impressive. 93% said they would recommend the Sales Championship™ to others and 82% rated the program as better than any other sales training they had attended. The Performance Excellence team leveraged the rich feedback on behaviours from the summary report, which established a tangible focus for their upcoming training and development budget. As a final testament to our success, CPC will run the next edition of the Sales Championship™ program for their upcoming 2006 National Sales Conference. 9 out of 10 participants felt the program did a great job at providing individual feedback to help them understand their strengths and weaknesses.
