- World View "Welcome to the Confederacy of Stars, cadet! During your training, you will be placed in disorienting and strange environments. These environments are not set up to be either fair or hospitable. You will never have enough authority, time, resources, or information to make perfect decisions as a leader in the Confederacy. Your goal is not to obtain ideal conditions for success--it is to excel despite not having them. You will be participating in a series of missions during your training. You will succeed by achieving individual, team and squadron mission objectives. Your team objectives will be to accomplish your mission and to survive the significant hazards that will arise from the enemy, the environment and even from within the team itself! Your individual goal is to accumulate a sufficient number of Star Points in order to graduate from the Confederacy of Stars, to earn your wings and assume your responsibilities as a Commander of your own Starship." With these words from the Confederacy Commander, participants plunge into an exhilarating galaxy one thousand years in the future. They face challenges and choices designed to bring them face to face with their own abilities as leaders, managers and team members. Together they strategize, plan, act and face the consequences of their choices--without the real-world consequences of failure--in a fun, creative and sometimes stressful experience. Participants take risks, enjoy, learn and take a quantum leap forward in their own development. The Confederacy of Stars simulations have been run with groups ranging in
size from eight participants to over one thousand. Our clients consistently rate our simulations as among the best learning programs. The Confederacy of Stars provides participants with an engaging learning environment based on the elements of today's challenging business and organizational realities. Through a series of simulated worlds that are strangely different and interconnected, participants are challenged to develop key managerial, leadership and team-building skills. The value of each of the five experiences is maximized through facilitated group debriefings. Participants draw key insights from their experiences, which are applicable to real-life situations.
