| The Assignment This simulated world designed for managers and leaders features a high-end automobile manufacturer, Winner’s Circle Inc. Participants are given roles within this company and sit down at their desks to begin their jobs. However, what they are faced with is an in-basket full of memos. How will they sort through them? What are the priorities? Is there time to get things done before the simulation draws to a close? Welcome to The Assignment. This simulated world moves teams, who are pitted against each other, through the chaos and confusion of incomplete tasks on the first day, to a state of productive order where people are ‘getting things done’ on the second day. The backbone of this program was created with a design that utilizes the organizational techniques of David Allen, one of the world’s most influential thinkers on productivity. Allen is the author of "Getting Things Done" and "Ready for Anything," who has partnered with e! to help participants in The Assignment deal with the information overload that confronts them in their ‘jobs’ at Winner’s Circle. The lessons learned during the simulation are easily paralled with real life situations, and the techniques learned can be immediately applied back on the job. LEARNING OUTCOMES Managers will have learned and be ready to implement the key lessons of managerial effectiveness. They will: - Know how to set priorities
- Develop their ability to make productive managerial choices
- Balance process with culture
- Leverage the tools learned in the simulation
